6-6-26 A Midyear Memo

January 23-25 the temperature high was single digits with wind chills -3 to -17 with lows -3 to 3 above. With the cold I was having problems with my left thumb and forearm, so I went to Dr. Clarkson and he gave me a steroid shot and it has been fine since. February started out just as boring as January but Phil Stef and Eli came for an afternoon visit the 20th and we all went to Kevin Berry's baby shower on the 21st in Dimondale. They left in the afternoon on the 22nd. March started with a problem with a slow sewer and ended up having a blocked sewer line replaced by Kevin David and his crew.  Kevin eventually talked Spicer into covering the cost. on the 18th Lukas and I took Minkey to Miller's Animal clinic and they ended up giving her a shot and some antibiotics that helped her arthritis in her back and legs. Jane and I went to The Wharton Center to see The Simon and Garfunkle Story compliments of Phil for an early birthday present which we both really enjoyed. On the 25th we left for Kouts with Lukas to celebrate the 3 birthdays. Phil and Stef got there the 27th and Simon and Jen the 28th.On the 29th we went to the Easter presentation the boys were in at the LaCrosse church. On April 4th, Holy Saturday an all-night rain caused the floor drain to flood the basement which lasted until the 7th and me needing to borrow Randy's sump pump to drain the water to my sump pump in the other side of the basement about every 3 hours. Which was repeated three days later when we had another inch of rain because the water table was so high and the bare earth from the drain work. Easter Sunday, we did have a turkey dinner with Simon, Jen and Lukas. On the 11th we went to the Wharton Center to see Clue for Jane's birthday present from Jon. In May Gary returned to our Silver Sneakers class after having surgery. On the 12th Jane had some moles removed at Dr. Messengers and on the 15th we went to see LSO at the Wharton thanks to Lukas.  Friday the 22nd Lens came to clean and desanitize the basement and we filled the junk hauler with 3 metal shelves and other damaged things. We went to the Texas Roadhouse for Jane's birthday and June 1st Carrabba's with her friends from Silver Sneakers. Earlier on the 1st Jane had a Cat-scan for her kidneys and there are more stones we will find out what her Doctor wants to do with this Friday. Health and getting older make for less detail on the scary state of our government and leads to caring more about what has to be addressed to live. We will survive!
